At East Cape Kayak Fishing we want to share our passion for this sport with you. We are proud to represent the premier kayak fishing destinations in southern Baja, some would say the world. The hotels Punta Colorada, of Van Wormer Resorts, and Rancho Leonero, are both located in the East Cape region of Baja on the Sea of Cortez and both have invested in new fleets of fishing kayaks. These locations give the kayak angler the opportunity to land huge tuna and dorado, trophy roosterfish and even marlin and sailfish.
East Cape Kayak Fishing owner, Jim Sammons holds the distinction of landing the first and only locally caught Marlin from a kayak, and has guided more clients onto Billfish from a kayak than any other guide in the world. All of our guides have years of experience kayak fishing in Baja and other local and exotic locations.
For the beginners our trips cover everything from basic paddling skills, launching and landing through the surf zone, and how to set up your kayak for optimum fishing performance. We will teach you techniques for landing fish of all sizes under the watchful eye of your guide in a support boat. We even video tape many of our trips so you can relive your adventure with your friends when you return.
All trips are limited to small groups so we can provide the utmost attention to our clients. Each of our fishing days are accompanied by a support panga with a limit of four kayaks per panga. This will give our clients more time fishing and less time paddling, and the range to get to those fish that may be miles down the beach or offshore. We also personalize the sessions to our clients' individual needs and interests.
In addition to their scheduled trips to Punta Colorada and Rancho Leonero, all of our guides are available for private trips to these destinations as well as locations of your choice. Our extremely experienced guides are willing to travel the world to help you get on that fish of a lifetime. We are available to guide on mothership trips as well as trips to other local or exotic locations of your choice. Tell us what you are interested in and we can put you with the right guide.
We hope you find our EastCapeKayakFishing.com Web site a wealth of information that you can come back to over and over again.
